Wayback Machine: March 2023 wrap-up

We kicked off our 2023 travels and races in March with our first-ever trip to Napa. We also started getting serious about home improvement projects and, as a result, the year started ticking by quickly.

It’s hard to believe we’d never been to Napa! It was a bucket list trip for us. We consulted friends for recommended wineries to visit and settled on six different stops.

Our favorite, by far, was Honig. Beautiful winery, terrific wines and great owners.

The true reason for our trip, though, was the Napa Half and Full Marathon. It was a nice downhill course. What wasn’t as nice was the sleet that came out of nowhere and pelted us for the last section of the race!

After getting back we went to Tyler to visit Jim and Tammy. In what is becoming a foursome tradition, we had dinner at The Grove.

We brought in a window company to look at replacing our patio door and decided to replace it and all of our windows! That was a massive project but worthwhile since all of our windows were 35 years old.

We ended the month with another big purchase: Our first rental home! We love the property. It’s located just minutes away from a good school and a massive high-paying chip fabrication plant that’s being built in a nearby city.

With that purchase, we set up an LLC to protect and manage our new rental business.
