September 2022 – Wrap Up

September was busy. Like really busy. Get going and get stuff done busy.

We went to Wisconsin over Labor Day weekend for the Rockin Brews Marathon. Unfortunately a thunder and lightning storm cancelled the races when we were 1/3 of the way in. We’ll have to travel back to get our Wisconsin race done next year.

Our Council Chamber renovation project continues its forward progress. This month we picked the first round of finishes for City Management and Council to review for final selection.

We headed to Johnnie’s property to finish cleaning out the house and garage. We rented a 15cy dumpster (slightly too small – who would have ever guessed?!?) and got it all done in just under 6 hours.

We did something new and fun this running season: We ran the state of Texas. Our 10-mile route took us on new roads and resulted in an awesome GPS map on our watches.

Happy 75th birthday, Dad!!! Facetime isn’t the same as in person, but it’s better than nothing.

The team hosted its first Reddit AMA. It went really well – 54 questions in 2 hours!

We celebrated the end of the fiscal year with an afternoon playing laser tag. Pretty sure I haven’t laughed (or sweated) that much in a loooooong time.
