What makes a good day?

Is it getting lots of things crossed off your to-do list?

Is it getting nothing done?

Maybe it’s a combination. That’s what was true for us over the weekend. We:

  • Went for a 15ish mile run.
  • Had a dinner party with friends in their garden.
  • Loved on the pets.
  • Did laundry.
  • Listed and sold some more items from various 2021 family home clean-outs (including our own).
  • Cooked.
  • Washed dishes.
  • Organized the pantry.
  • Watched two musicals.
  • Watched college and professional football.
  • Slept late.
  • Went for a walk.
  • Cleaned and organized the game room shelves – and threw away some very old “We’ll save this for a future day” things that we saved but never used.
  • Backed up the computers.

Typing it all out makes it look like we did a lot, but it didn’t feel that way. We did what we wanted to do, and no more. And we did all of it together as a family, which made it wonderful.
