December 2020 Wrap Up

The end of 2020 and we were determined to have a happy quiet Christmas. After all, most of 2020 was focused on quiet, so why not end the same way? (Particularly since the COVID pandemic surged beginning in November for our region.)

Our holiday baking for neighbors opened a door for notes, treats and greetings back from our neighbors. Just what we’d hoped for!

What type of dog is Glory exactly? We’re waiting on DNA test results to find out.

The City of Plano found a way to treat employees to the annual holiday luncheon. No gathering, no hugging, no buffet lines – instead we hosted a drive through (in the bitter cold) and handed out meals to our employees. It was great to see everyone!

My BFF (Bourbon Friend Forever) hosted another fundraiser bourbon tasting via Zoom. This is becoming a very fun thing we do.

Found the perfect thank you gift for our Dallas Galloway pace group leaders. It was a weird season, but everyone found a way to make it work.

Running running running – after our season ended, we started running closer to home. This meant looking at Christmas lights near the house.

We spotted the Bethlehem (Christmas) Star!!

We decided to walk the Deerfield Holiday lights this year, instead of battling cars to drive it. We took Glory – she saw her first horses! The walking experience was much better and we’ll probably do that moving forward. Only took 20 years to figure this out.

New tradition started this year – tamales for Christmas Eve dinner.

Living overseas taught us how to manage a Christmas feast for 2. That was a useful skill for 2020.

The day after Christmas marked the final weekend in 2020, and the end to the 50 reasons why we celebrate Kelly project. It was a fun 50th birthday gift.

I’m not saying our Christmas cards mailed were late. I’m calling them end-of-year cards instead.

This year’s burning of the grievances took a less time than it did in previous years. While 2020 gave us plenty of content, we realized we weren’t any different than anyone else struggling to make it through a challenging year.
