Thoughts on 47

Getting older isn’t problematic for me.

Well – a few things about getting older are problematic, like the propensity of body parts to just stop working all of a sudden (what’s up with the random “my _____ hurts” wake up calls?!?).

That aside, here’s what I can definitively say now that I’m older:

  • Clean Sheet Saturday can set the tone for a whole week.
  • I’d rather have a fit heart than pretty feet
  • Staying up – or going out – “late” equates to about 9:30 p.m.
  • There’s something to be said for getting a 5 p.m. or 5:30 p.m. dinner reservation.
  • I’m grateful crippling insecure moments are more in the rear view mirror than the passenger seat.
  • I’m not looking for new friendships, but I’m grateful for the ones that arrive and develop.
  • Personal growth is a lot more fun if you can bring others along for the same journey.

Here’s to another year of life!
