Thanks for the Memories

Yesterday we said Goodbye and see you soon to my beloved grandfather.
I think one of the great blessings of my life has been experiencing the deep love of my family and the exceptionally close relationship I’ve had with my grandparents.
As the oldest grandchild, I had the chance to vacation with my grandparents, spend summer vacations visiting and, I’m sure, cause them endless amusement with my non-stop questions and conversation.
My grandpa was a man deeply in love with God. In fact, I learned a lot about faith from Grandpa. You should have heard the stories shared by those who came to remember him. I’d like to leave that kind of impression on people around me!
Grandpa was also deeply in love with my grandma. They were a wonderful couple, just the best of the best. The Boy and I are so grateful for the witness they’ve given us for long-lasting friendship, love and the best qualities of marriage.
But moreover, Grandpa was a good friend. How many grandchildren can honestly call their grandparents friends? I can – and do – and know that I’m blessed because my G&G A invested time and energy into my life. We share a lot of common interests and genuinely enjoy being together.

I think that’s something that makes this type of separation so hard. I know Grandpa lived a good life and is enjoying heaven…I just am deeply sad to not have the chance to make new memories with him.

We’re all sad about that around here.

He’s going to be missed…and I can’t wait to see him again.

Bye for now, Grandpa.

Love, Punkin
