A Good Kind of Tired

What a weekend!

The Boy had a continuing education conference this weekend, through Saturday afternoon. Fortunately, his conference was in town which meant that I was able to stay the night with him at his hotel Friday night.

{I was a little disappointed that The Niece went to visit her family for the weekend before I could tell her that I’d be gone for the evening, hooking up with a guy in a hotel room. Sometimes the best lines never get said…}

Anyway, while The Boy was in session after session, I hit the town. I finally got my hair cut, bought new clothes, picked up some bits and bobs to spruce up our family room, stopped in at the library, and (along with half of Dallas) got our car washed.

Eventually The Boy came home. We got up early on Sunday and together cleaned house, did laundry and ironing and caught up on a week’s worth of podcasts and recorded television shows.

I even found time to finish my scrapbooking from 2008 (egads!), make some organizational changes to my pantry (whew!) and make cinnamon rolls – from scratch (yum!).

I’m tired, but not exhausted. I actually feel relaxed. Rested. Refreshed. Ready to go.

There’s something really great about catching up on a multitude of tasks, particularly those that have been languishing for far-too-long.

It’s a good kind of tired. And I actually feel ready for the week. Bring it on!!
