Being Wanted

The Boy went with me to an industry event the other evening.

I was standing with a group, listening to a brief speech, when The Boy walked up carrying the still-full glass I’d left at our table.

He made as though he was going to take a drink, when I whispered, Hey, that’s mine! It has lipstick on it – you don’t want it.

He just looked at me and said, You’ve got lipstick on you. Does that mean I don’t want you?

How do you argue with that kind of logic?
