And We Mustn’t Forget

In the midst of birth order discussions, the plight of the middle sister:

Text from youngest sister: What time are you leaving?

Call from oldest sister: Please get the flowers before the shop closes at 2.

Call from younger sister: Make sure the kids are quiet when we arrive at the church.

Call from younger sister: We did half of what you said you would do. So now we need you to do this (long list).

Email from oldest sister: Don’t forget to get the flowers. The shop closes at 2.

Email from older sister (cc’ing the world): Supplies are at the church. These are the lies told so far (long list). Remember to get the flowers. The shop closes at 2.

Text from younger sister: Are you on the way yet?

Call from younger sister: Ok, are you on the way? Make sure the kids are quiet. We’ve left you a to-do list.

Call from older sister: We’re heading to the church to drop off a projector. The flower shop closes in 10 minutes. Did you get the flowers?

It’s a miracle that my middle sister didn’t yell at us while she was standing in line at the flower shop, 30 minutes before it closed!

oh you have NO idea how much it took not to scream in frustration. I was trying to carry out a vase of flowers and a box of flowers. My headset wasn’t working so I couldn’t talk and walk at the same time. Oh well, it all worked out in the end. The kids were quiet by bribes of mints. lol
