It’s Dallas Love Field’s 100th anniversary. As a centennial celebration, we ran a special 5k with lots of our Dallas Galloway friends. I mean really, who wouldn’t want to participate in a race called Run the Runway – where you actually run on a runway?!?

Dallas Galloway 5k Program Wraps
Our first-ever 5k training program was more fun than we could have ever imagined. Our members trained hard during the slightly chilly spring (we gave winter a miss in Texas this year). Then they ran the Esperanza 5k in Plano and made us all proud. So did the Dallas Galloway half and full runners who […]
Getting Started with Getting Started Training
We’re trying something new with Dallas Galloway this spring: A Getting Started 5k Training program. We thought it might be fun to see if there was any interest in a 5k training program for new or new-back-to-running runners. Plus we wondered if we could start to build a base of runners closer to home for […]
Rocking Little Rock with Dallas Galloway
Members of our Dallas Galloway Trekkers pace group wanted to run Little Rock and asked if we would join them. Since this feels a little like teenagers wanting to hang out with mom and dad, we OF COURSE said yes! Seriously, though, this is a fun group to hang out with and makes for our […]
Running For Chocolate
We recently ran the Hot Chocolate 15k for the 2nd year. I wasn’t really in the mood to run and I don’t particularly like chocolate, but neither of those factors has ever stopped me from showing up. Plus I had friends waiting – even though I no-show them fairly regularly on Monday runs. But that’s […]
Dashing for Donuts Once Again
There are several things that make the annual Donut Dash 5k a wonderful experience. Let’s get the obvious two out of the way first: But seriously this is a mostly for-fun 5k, filled with strollers, dogs, runners, walkers and (if you look around carefully) members of your running club. And the other fun aspect? Kelly’s […]
Houston, You Were a Problem
Last weekend was the annual running of the Houston Marathon. It’s easy to be all smiles before a race. Even the morning of the race… But at some point you have to run a race. And smiles usually fade, though from looking through old race-day course photos I’ve learned my grimace face looks a lot like my […]
A New New Year’s Run
For six years we ran the New Year’s Day 5-miler as a way to kick off the year with a bit of competitive-driven exercise. Sadly, the race shut down after the 2015 race. What to do? In 2016, the answer was nothing. This year I was determined to find a replacement race. And, given that we […]
On The List Start to Finish: The Tyler Rose
It may have been just one week after he ran another marathon and he may have been in the middle of battling a terribly head-and-chest-cold, but Kelly successfully once again ran the Tyler Rose Marathon.
The Wineglass Marathon
Our first marathon of the 2016-2017 running season was the Wineglass, held in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York at the beginning of October. We ran it because many of our Galloway friends were going, the scenery featured beautiful fall colors and the weather would be nice and cool. Here’s the reality check for 2016: At least many of our Galloway friends were there. One out of three is bad, trust me.
