Lots of travel in September. Lots.
We headed back to Wisconsin to run the race that canceled on us last year. Despite a heat wave that threatened to cancel this year’s race, we successfully got it done.
From Wisconsin to Florida for the 3CMA conference. I spoke at a session, hung out with the Texas contingent and ate dinner with sharks.
Back home, Kelly was managing our fence replacement project AND doing it during the hottest streak of summer weather.
With all of the runcation driving, it’s no surprise that we hit 100,000 miles on the Buick Envision. It’s still a great vehicle.
We met with our lawyer and finalized all of our updates to our legal documents. It’s important to review your will, power of attorney and the like every few years to make sure it still reflects your wishes.
Meanwhile, Glory appeared on a water bill insert after winning Plano’s Cutest Dog contest. Her ego has never been bigger.
Off to another race we went! This time, we traveled to New Hampshire to run the Clarence DelMar. It was a beautiful race – perfect rolling hill course and cool overcast weather.
Another aging part of the Hayley home replaced! This time our 15-year-old (+) recycling bin. It’s had a massive lid crack since we bought the house in 2009.
End of month and end of fiscal year meant it was time for our team’s strategic retreat. A little bit of team building/learning, a lot of planning and a wind-down of socializing makes for a strong team.
The month wrapped with a trip to Austin for the International City Manager’s Association (ICMA) conference. I spoke as part of a panel about how to build a citizens’ academy program.
