June was insanely busy, thanks primarily to work. We hosted and (as a result of a rain cancellation) planned two birthday events plus had our annual conference. Kelly and I also kicked off season 9 of leading Dallas Galloway – now named Interval Run Club Dallas.
If you thought we were excited over our first bee visitor, you should have seen us when butterflies started arriving.
We kicked off our 9th season as Galloway program directors. Every time we think it’s time to quit, we remember how much we love it.
Plano Birthday Party #1 – custom t-shirts, birthday cupcakes and tons of fun. Until the lightning arrived, that is.
TAMIO conference was in Arlington (yay for close-by!). I participated on an internal communications panel in addition to my board duties.
Because the conference was close-by, we had most of the team attend.
A highlight for me was meeting the legendary Opal Lee, who pushed for the establishment of Juneteenth as a national holiday.
We wrapped our 5k spring program by running the Global Running Day 5k as a group.
A new bench joined the garden design.
Summer this year was very hot and we discovered just how much both Oliver and Glory love ice.
Because of the early end of our big 150th Birthday Party event, we hosted a second birthday celebration as part of the July 4th event. Council was happy to help us promote it.
