Ah February. Another year of snow and ice. It’s becoming a regular Texas February thing.
Snow actually forced me to work from home one day. I didn’t mind and my co-workers were especially pleased with the unexpected turn of events.
It wasn’t too cold to run! There’s something about cold mornings that makes winter runs somewhat magical.
February usually means State of the City, and our Mayor did a terrific job (as always!). This year we held it at the North Texas Performing Arts home stage in the Shops at Willow Bend.
We love running the Hot Chocolate 15k mostly because it’s a run we can do with friends. I am not a big chocolate lover, so I definitely don’t go for that part of the experience!
My team made a huge change this year, putting most city departments onto a graphic design template system through Canva. It’s been a huge hit! Departments like doing their own designs in their own timelines and it’s allowed us to focus on higher-level projects. Win-win!
While Kelly headed to Fort Worth to run the Cowtown Marathon, I had quite a shock when I headed out for a run and discovered the contents of a neighbor’s house on the curb. They moved out overnight and left everything behind for the new owner to manage. A problem easily solved with a call to our property standards division at the city.
