November started crazy, ended quiet and had a lot packed in between. In some ways, I wish all months were like this, particularly if there are 4-day weekends built in.
Glory turned two! Only one more year to go until she outgrows puppy crazy. Or never. It depends on who you talk to, to be honest.
Nine months after he went into long-term care, Johnnie Beall drew his last breath and went to heaven. What a whirlwind 60 days for our family. We’re glad he’s out of his suffering from dementia.
The DRC Half Marathon was back in person. I would not recommend running it the same week you have a colonoscopy, a death in the family, shingles vaccine #2 and a COVID booster.
Remarkably, I got caught up on scrapbooking this month – despite Glory’s attempts to help.
COVID is over! (Kind of.) In any case, Eataly Dallas finally held its grand opening and we were there for every decadent bit of it.
Ok, maybe COVID isn’t over. The Marine Corps Marathon was virtual again this year. No matter, that’s what friends from Dallas Galloway are here for – all 26.2 loooong miles of it!
Friend visits really are the best.
We enjoyed the first-ever Lights on the Farmstead – and I especially liked this year’s Santa.
An old favorite, Twisted Root, set up shop in downtown Plano.
Jasper always struggles to make it through the holidays in one piece. We get it, Jasper Jones. We get it.
Lights at Legacy was also back for 2021 – there’s just something wonderful about sharing Christmas lights with thousands of people you don’t know.
New friends headed for newer pastures. AKA the running community is the best.
Glory had a friend stay over for the holidays. Magic had a great time.
Kelly had an epic run at the Plano Turkey Trot – 2nd in his age group, 20th place out of 1200 runners. And I hit my fastest 5k race time since 2016.
