What can you say about a month that starts with going to a second funeral seven days?
I’d say the month had a lot of downs. Some ups, then downs again. It’s going to be a long journey, but we’re on it and at least we’re moving forward.
We laid Sandy to rest, next to Holiday.
When in grief, keep moving. So I decided to go ahead and run the Marine Corps virtual Marathon with my friend Lori the next morning.
Friends have really loved on us. Food, flowers and even a day out at the State Fair. We committed to letting people show their grief for us, because we know shared grief is healing grief.
Holiday’s Genesis (Guinness) story will live beyond his time. We love it.
Also healing? Time outside – whether in our backyard or on the trails with Glory Be, or experiencing the wonder of yet another White Rock Lake sunrise.
I got boo’d!!!
We crossed another state off our 50 state race list – New Mexico! – by running the Duke City Half/Full Marathon.
The chaos of the last two months got to poor Glory Be. Goodbye favorite bed…
A friend sent the loveliest colorful hug…
And somehow, just somehow, the month ended up being a-ok.
