April 2021. The month when we first started to feel normal after 13 months of definite not normal.
Our 2021 home improvement project – the Great Backyard Remodel – got underway with a sprinkler reconfiguration.
Goodbye Sonata! We bought it in 2012, right before I started driving to downtown Dallas for work. A hot market for used cars meant we had it sold in under 45 minutes with 50 offers.
We got J’s family rings appraised. We also had my wedding set reappraised. Let me just say: Kelly did a good job.
Our latest 5k program started up. After having cancelled last year because of COVID, this felt like a Very Big Thing.
Glory Be found a lost dog during one of our early morning runs. She herded it safely to our backyard. We took her to the Animal Shelter, where they called her owner (yay!) and got Tori back to her family.
TEDxPlano returned in person – different format, same loyal fans, same great talks.
In person meetings came back, too!!!!
SECOND DOSE DONE!!!! A filled out COVID vaccine card = the modern Welcome to Society card.
Backyard remodel continued. Kelly and I are doing most of the work ourselves.
Glory Be’s first bluebonnet photo.
The amount of mulch and compost needed for the backyard felt overwhelming. (Supply for 1/4 of the project!)
Kelly decided to do a last-minute marathon with John – in southwest Missouri.
We got a Peloton!
Two planting beds done and ready for planting – that will come much later.
We were two of 23,000+ people who early voted in Plano. Local elections matter!
Last TEDxPlano Salon session of the 2020-2021 season. We were able to offer it hybrid.
Glory Be and I made a stop at the (Paris, Texas) Eiffel Tower after a quick trip to check Johnnie’s mail. It was a fun ending to a long month.
