This is an easy way to enjoy a steak a little more quickly on busy evenings.
Garlic Butter Steak Bites

- 1 T chopped garlic
- 1/2 t freshly ground black pepper
- 2 T dried savory herbs (parsley, shallots, onion powder)
- 1-1 1/2 lbs thick-cut New York strip steak
- 1/2 t kosher salt
- 4 T unsalted butter
- 12 oz mushrooms (or this great 6 oz shortcut!)
Combine garlic, pepper and herbs in small bowl. Cut steak into 1-inch cubes, then season with kosher salt. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium high-heat. Add steak cubes and sear until browned, flipping them halfway through and adding mushrooms, 6 to 8 minutes total. Add the garlic and herb mixture and cook for 1 minute more.
This is really great with horseradish mashed potatoes (just stir 1-2 T prepared horseradish into instant mashed potatoes).
