Recipe | Blackberry Bourbon Jam

This is as delicious as the name implies and as easy to make as you dream it could be.

Blackberry Bourbon Jam

  • 2 6-oz pkg blackberries
  • 3/4 c sugar
  • 1/2 T lemon juice
  • 1/4 c bourbon

Put a small plate in the freezer. In a large measuring cup, combine berries, sugar, lemon juice and bourbon and let sit for about 30 minutes or until the sugar and bourbon start to break the blackberries down. Place mixture in a saucepan, bring to a boil over medium high heat, stirring occasionally. Reduce temperature to medium and simmer until mixture begins to thicken, about 20-30 minutes. Keep stirring, or mixture will stick. Once the mixture starts to thicken, put a tablespoon of the mixture on the plate in the freezer and freeze for 1 minute. Push your finger against the cold jam, the jam will wrinkle. Remove from heat and let cool. Pour jam into jars. Jam will keep for approximately 2 weeks.
