Our Atlanta race experience started off rough. Because they were also hosting the Olympic Marathon qualifier, the Expo hours were split making packet pickup a hot mess.
Things calmed down the next day – thank goodness! Race morning was cool and clear.
The course was hilly – this is Atlanta, after all. But it went past all of Atlanta’s highlights. After all of the years travelling back and forth to Atlanta, there are still a couple of things I need to return to do.
The MLK National Historic Park:
and the Carter Presidential Museum.
Piedmont Park has never looked lovelier.
All in all, it was a good race experience. Our hotel was a few blocks away and we managed to stay in our room past checkout time in order to shower pre-departure. That’s almost medal worthy by itself.
