We’re continuing to work our way through our 50 states of races. In January, we checked off Alabama with the Mobile Marathon and Half Marathon.
Mobile is a great city! Friendly people, historic architecture and – important for runners – a nice, fairly flat race course.
The race is a little old school. It still uses the old-fashioned attach-to-your-shoe timing chips. We haven’t used those in years!
I loved running through the old coastal tree-lined streets. The Spanish moss helped us stay cool when the sun peeked out.
And who could help but smile at the Southern Belle line-up at the finish line?
The race wins the day for best post-race food. Hot broth, pasta salad, red beans and rice – YUM.
Marathon #58 is in the books!!! Plus my half, too.
