Super easy super tasty homecooked Chinese food. Did I mention it’s vegetarian as well?
General Tso’s Chick Peas
Inspiration but infinitely more difficult recipe here
- 1-15 oz can chick peas, drained, rinsed
- 1 T minced garlic
- 1 T olive oil
- 1/2 c General Tso’s sauce
- Green onions, sliced
Heat oil in a large skillet on medium heat, add garlic. Cook for 1-2 minutes stirring constantly until fragrant. Add chickpeas and stir to coat. Add sauce. Serve over rice and garnish with spring onions.
So, if you don’t want the spice of General Tso’s sauce, how would this be with sweet and sour?
Chickpeas have a neutral flavor, so you could successfully sub nearly any flavor in place of the General Tso sauce. I’ve done sweet and sour and it’s delicious!
