There are several things that make the annual Donut Dash 5k a wonderful experience.
Let’s get the obvious two out of the way first:
But seriously this is a mostly for-fun 5k, filled with strollers, dogs, runners, walkers and (if you look around carefully) members of your running club.
And the other fun aspect? Kelly’s received an age award twice. Of course, we have to put an asterisk next to each award because for at least three years, the Donut Dash 5k hasn’t really been a 5k. It’s been 3.0, 2.97 and 2.78 miles…but not 3.1 miles (or a 5k).
I guess you can’t have it all in a race!
