We’ve been on a bit of a race-kick lately – fortunately, we’re taking a bit of a break until the end of April.
While downloading race times into our spreadsheet, I noticed that Kelly and I have both chalked up performance times that rival some of our best ever. That’s a welcome change – and also unusual at this time of year, since we’re in the off-season from formal training. Hopefully this means good things for the regular season!
Hot Chocolate 15k | February 6, 2016. Because who doesn’t want chocolate-chocolate-chocolate after a race? (Actually, I don’t but I’m weird that way.)
New Orleans Half and Full Marathon | February 28, 2016.
Running with the usual crew.
As well as Dallas friends.
Get a fun medal!
Fresh 15k | March 5, 2016. A quick trip to Tyler to work on Papa Holiday’s taxes and run a race, as you do.
This is a fun medal – the center bit spins.
Run of the Irish 5k | March 12, 2016
As is usual for a Mellew-organized race, the medal is better produced than the actual race – but it was fun anyway and close to home.
I ran with one of our Dallas Galloway runners and paced her to a first place finish in her age group. (That feels like a victory for me as well – so proud!) Kelly was an age group winner, too.
Esperanza 5k | March 20, 2016
We always run the Esperanza. It’s close to home – in fact, Kelly ran to the race start from our house. Plus the medals are the very best.
You’re rockin’ it Shannah! Keep up the great work!
