Flipping through my phone I realized that I’d never posted these photos on the blog. A few weeks ago, Kelly and I were given tickets to attend the closing party of the US Mayors’ Conference held at the beautiful Dallas Arboretum.
Apologies in advance for the image quality. I could lie and say I’m using a nice diffusing filter. The truth is that I’ve dropped my phone so many times that the camera lens is scratched beyond reasonable repair.
[ Don’t tell Kelly that I admitted to dropping my phone. Let alone dropping it multiple times. ]
The party was hosted by Southwest Airlines with food prepared (and served) by four of Dallas’ most celebrated chefs: Richard Chamberlain, Dean Fearing, Stephan Pyles and Kent Rathbun.
On to my mostly-wordless-party photos.
Everything is bigger in Dallas. |
I love how you can just spot the downtown skyline from the Arboretum. Kelly and I run around this lake (9 miles) every Saturday during the winter. |
Food by Chef Richard Chamberlain: Chili Cure Salmon, Truffle Quail Egg, Indian Fry Bread, Tiny Greens, Creme Fraiche, Caviar |
Chef Fearing is on the left. He also plays a mean guitar. |
Food by Chef Dean Fearing Maryland-style Crabcake, English Field Pea Salad, Firecracker Slaw, Smoky Chili Aioli |
Food by Chef Kent Rathbun Pan Seared Guajillo Chile Dusted Scallop, Smoked Elotes, Cilantro-Lime Butter |
Food by Chef Stephan Pyles Chocolate Wild Boar Tamale with Cherry Salsita |
Also by Chef Pyles Almond Gazpacho, Lobster, Vanilla Braised Fennel, Champagne Grapes |
And to wrap the evening – a little music to welcome the sunset.
My lens is also scratched, but it almost looks like you have film over your camera. I found that if I take cleaner for glasses and a little sham, it at least makes presentable photos 🙂 You look like you had a GREAT time though!
