The Hayley House feels always feels like it needs a lot work.
I suppose that’s true of any home.
But during October we made some serious progress on the exterior. Behold:
I can’t believe I’m sharing this disaster. |
We raised the canopy, cut out dead wood, removed limbs threatening our roof and cleared away sucker branches. |
The best $250 ever spent – we had a landscape crew trim all shrubs, bushes and small trees, as well as clean out the planting beds, in the front and back of the house. What a difference!! |
Now to deal with the bare spots in the yard – the raised tree canopy should allow more sunlight to reach the ground, necessary for growing grass.
Of course, I still need to paint the front door and paint our exterior light fixture, and we need to install gutters and have our threatening-to-fall-over mailbox replaced. I can’t wait to see what everything looks like a year from now!
