I spent a majority of last week at the SMPS National conference.
While there, I worked with our certification committee to review and approve questions for future exams. As the chair of that national committee, I had the extreme pleasure of celebrating our certified marketers (CPSM) and welcoming this year’s recent passes into the CPSM community.
I also led a session on one of my favorite topics – public relations.
I also participated in several engaging seminars and keynote addresses. My brain has truly been both stretched and reinvigorated. Now to keep it all front-of-brain now that I’m back in the office…
My personal big event of the week was being inducted in the College of Fellows during the annual gala awards ceremony.
That evening started with a champagne toast from the presidential suite. Epcot looks beautiful from above.
And I enjoyed spending the evening with the many folks from Dallas-Fort Worth attending the conference. (As well as The Boy, who flew in to share in the celebration.)
I spent my whole time on stage during the induction praying I wouldn’t drop my plaque.
Fortunately, it safely made it back to the table (and back to Dallas) without a scratch. A minor miracle.
After the induction, there may have been a little celebrating…
But some things are best left in a hotel ballroom in Orlando.
