You can’t really hide when you wear an ortho boot. It squeaks. You limp. It doesn’t match your other shoe.
But the interesting thing about wearing the ortho boot is that total strangers initiate conversations, ranging from the simple “What happened?” to more extended conversations about a time when they were in a boot.
It’s a strange thing. And wonderful in its own way.
