It seemed fitting to touch base with a bit of America’s weird side (outside of spending time with each other, of course!) by stopping in at Roswell, New Mexico, on our way back to Texas.
Roswell is home to the “UFO Incident” of 1947. It’s a long story. Best to consult the web if you want to learn more (click here).
Call it home to true believers, or simply a city that knew to grab a marketing strategy when it was presented (or perhaps some of both). In any case, Roswell is a fun stop on the weird side.
HOWEVER, nothing prepared us for the weirdness of our hotel.
I was so shocked – and amused – by our encounter with the hotel clerk that I posted it that evening on Facebook.
But that didn’t prepare us for being given the key to a room that was already occupied.
Or, after being relocated to a new room, having a hotel neighbor who clipped his toenails outside his room.
Roswell truly is a stop on the weird side, no matter how you slice it.
Did you go bowling? *still grinning about that one!*
Nope! We went geocaching. 🙂 but totally crazy!
