Putting the Personal in Personal Gallery Wall

After a month and a half of looking at this:

I decided it was time to make the personal gallery wall in our master bedroom a little more personal. That meant it was time to replace the store images with things that were meaningful to the Hayleys. A few days of digging through photos and ephemera, I came up with this:

Here’s what we have:

1. A sketch of my maternal family home – what we call The Howard House. (Howard, Kansas) A friend sketched the house using old photos for a family reunion. I scanned the sketch and printed a copy for our wall.

2. Love this – I mapped The Boy and I in Photoshop. The male frame overlays a map where he grew up. The female frame overlays a map where I grew up. The interstate, I-35, that connects his home state (Texas) and my home state (Kansas) has been recreated in a heart shape. I got the general idea for this project from Pinterest.

The original idea uses cut out maps – much cuter.
I’m just lazy and Photoshop is easier.

3. A gorgeous macro shot The Boy took when we toured Monticello in 2004.

4. A printable available for free download. Also found through Pinterest.

5. A photo taken at the Royal Observatory, home of Greenwich Mean Time. We’re standing on the Meridian Line with our best friends.

6. A fun photo booth shot with our best friends.

7. The Boy and I celebrating our birthdays at the British Open in St Andrews (2005).

8. A celebration of a minor miracle: A hole-in-one by The Boy.

9. A photo of our UK street address plaque. {le sigh}

10. The best birthday present ever – an old Polaroid shot of my grandpa and I together. I’m so grateful that my grandma thought to send it to me for my 40th birthday.

11. An awesome L-O-V-E bingo game board I found at a scrapbooking convention.

12. Printout of  a great Tolkien quote, found through Pinterest.
