Stop the Madness

We have gotten very tired of coming home to a door littered with advertisements, political ads and business cards. Not only does this advertise when we are (and aren’t) home, it’s hard to tell if people working the neighborhood are using their door-to-door time as an opportunity to case our home.

No more.

Did you realize that many cities have solicitation ordinances? Our city ordinance states that solicitation is strictly prohibited if the homeowner has posted a no solicitation sign.

Of course, there are all sorts of guidelines regarding the size of sign, fonts and language. However, if you meet these guidelines and someone posts on your door…bad news for them. We can submit the flyers and file an official complaint.

I created our own sign and hung it when I finally swapped our fall wreath for a spring wreath (winter came and went without any fanfare from our weather or our front door):

Here’s a close-up:

If you like my sign, feel free to download the graphic for your own use!
