More accurately, I’m sliding around the ice and that’s something on my 101 List.
What better way is there to accomplish a 101 List item than to do it while networking and relationship building with other women in my industry? {Answer: there’s not. Particularly when The Boy has informed you that he’s not interested in falling.}
Aren’t these gorgeous women? (Apologies for the blurry photo. I enlisted a Stranger With Skating Skills…as in, he wouldn’t fall down while taking our photo…to snap this. Apparently he was a better skater than photographer.)
They’re not only lovely, but they’re fun as well:
That’s my kind of gal.
Anyway, we bought our passes – though we didn’t learn until afterwards that there was a waiver of liability on the back of our Ticket / Sticker (like that will hold up in court).
We laced up and off we went. Some were brave (BonBon), others held on to the wall and pulled themselves around (ahem…me). I don’t care. I didn’t fall and that was a very very good thing.
So much fun. So glad we went! It was an awesome, awesome holiday (networking) experience.
How about one more view of that incredible tree?
Isn’t she a beauty? Ahhhh…Christmas time.
I remember my one and only ice skating outingat the old age of 22, but it was on a frozen pond. There was no wall to hang on to! And it was cold (like 5 °). Didn't do it again.
I don't think I could have survived without the security of the wall! Even though I didn't hold on 100% of the time, it was nice to know it was there.
