My grandmother told me, “Do the worst thing first.” Her philosophy is that if you do the worst task first, you’ll be done with it and on to the next before you know it.
And you know what? It works.
- I ran super-early in the morning this weekend – the absolute worst thing to have to do on a Saturday morning. It was so dark I could barely see where I was going; a true blessing when you have 20 miles to run.
- I returned several phone calls by 9 am – I hate returning phone calls. Within 30 minutes, all of the calls were done and my task list seemed much more doable.
- I think this morning I’ll tackle the Leaning Pile of Files before I find myself buried at my desk.
So what are you going to do first today?
I woke up first. That was a pretty horrible way to start the day, so it can only get better.
I did the laundry @ 5:30 A this morning.
I actually went for a run at 4:45! I woke up at 3:30…so much for sleeping last night.
I talked to my daughter first thing this morning. What?!?!??!
Is it ok to mention which daughter?
