Have you ever had a bad day?
Did you sing a sad song just to turn it around? (Or is that something only Daniel Powter does?)
Anyway. I had a bad day. A very bad day. An even worse day, if you consider that it was a bad day while we had company. Awesome.
As proof of said bad day, in one 12-hour period I:
- dropped an empty glass jar (formerly full of pecans), shattering it all over the pantry and breakfast room.
- pulled a crockpot container, full of greasy water, from the pre-heating oven, spilling hot greasy water all over the kitchen.
- {the crockpot was in the oven after my last kitchen disaster to keep the furbabies from licking the greasy water while it soaked}
- {I forgot I’d left the crockpot in the oven…for two weeks}
- yelled at The Boy after spilling hot greasy water. Like it was his fault I’d forgotten a crock pot full of greasy water in the oven for two weeks.
- attempted to re-make the dairy-free sponge cake, using orange instead of lemon. It didn’t bake properly, producing something more the consistency of an actual sponge. Dunking it in homemade orange icing was its only redemption.
