We made the most of our time in Fort Worth while on staycation. Of course, we toured Mrs Bairds Bakery. Then we headed to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (The Boy and I had toured it before, but our friends hadn’t), before heading to tour Rahr Brewery.
I’d read about the brewery in various local foodie blogs. The brewery is open on Wednesday and Saturdays to the public. For just $7, you get samples (of course) and an escorted tour through the facility.
Did I say samples? Holy cow – they hand you a pint glass when you check in (with your ID in hand, of course) and tell you that you’ll be able to enjoy four glasses of whatever is on tap that night.
I feel compelled to say that there was no way I’d be able to have four pints of beer. Not even if I had all day to do it.
We asked for partial pours so we could enjoy – and remember – the tasting experience.
The brewery owners walked us through the facility, explaining the beer making process and answering questions.
It was a great evening out! More than worth the money we spent and a great place to take a group for a fun get-together.
