Our beloved Hayley House has betrayed us again.
We whipped into our driveway after a late night on the town, pressed the garage remote and….nothing.
I, the ever not-helpful wife, pressed it again and…still nothing.
The garage door opener – replaced, mind you, two months after we moved in – gave up the ghost.
Now, we could be angry. Instead, we chose to look at the positive side of the less-than-ideal situation. At least the opener stopped working when the weather had turned slightly warm. If I’d had to scrape frost off the car in the morning, I might have been slightly more stressed.
As we’re learning, with a house, it’s always something. Frozen pipes, standing water, broken furnaces, exploding a/c units and, now, dead garage door openers.
So we had the repairman over Friday afternoon to look at the unit. Of course, the motor (under warranty) was fine. The parts (not under warranty) were not so fine.
After his initial inspection, the repairman called us out to the garage.
Him: Well, ma’am. The problem is that your logic board is blown.
The Boy: You have no idea.
He thinks he’s so funny.
I'd say that was pretty funny.
Time to see "The Money Pit" if you haven't seen it.
We have and now we can relate!!
