This weekend The Boy and I had the privilege of attending a friend’s (the daughter of good friends) wedding. It was such a special time for her, of course!, but for us as well.
I love weddings. The pomp, the circumstance, the traditions and the new things thrown in that make every one special. Amanda and her new husband, Matthew, did such a great job – The Boy and I thought their wedding was one of the best.
Here’s how they brought the fun, memorable and special to their wedding day:
1. Creativity.
2. Family blessing on the start of a new family.
3. Servanthood and recongition of the holiness of marriage – all of the bridal party, except the minister, were barefoot. (I didn’t get a photo of this)
4. Light-heartedness. (Dancing down the aisle)
5. Ok, this isn’t anything special – but I just loved this picture of togetherness.
6. Silliness that everyone could participate in. (Who doesn’t want to play dress up?!?)
Congratulations again, Mr and Mrs C – we’re so happy for you!!
And did I mention that this was a wonderful trip to visit friends? A great way to celebrate a 101 List item!
Thank you again for coming! This is a great summation of the day – if you don't mind I may post it on my page. Love the photos and hope to see you in Serenity sometime soon. Love you guys so much! (Oh and isn't it clear that Matthew is good for her?)
We were so happy to be invited!!! And you are more than welcome to repost.
Perhaps next spring/summer on our annual vacation we can stop in at Serenity? We'd love that.
Kelly and I told Amanda and Matthew both that he was the perfect guy for her. We said that we'd seen her with earlier boyfriends and that Matthew was the first guy that allowed her (brought it out in her) to be the wonderful, fun girl that we knew her to be.
It's obvious that they are deeply in love and are solid friends. We've often said that the most important thing in marriage (outside of shared faith) is friendship because it carries you through both the difficult and dull moments.
