Yesterday Marathon Man (aka The Boy) and his Best Friend John ran the Cowtown Marathon in Fort Worth, Texas. It was Marathon Man’s second time running this race (out of X number of total marathons) and BFJ’s first-ever marathon (yay!).
We were certain Marathon Man would do well. He’d trained all year with a running group to improve his speed and endurance. Sure enough, he looked really strong as he approached the finish line.
We knew he’d beaten his previous Personal Record (PR), but had to wait for the official results to post to know just how well he’d done.
- He bested his PR by more than 8 minutes,
- Was 26th place in his age/gender class, and
- Finished 146th out of 1216 runners (though the race day results showed 145th).
BFJ met his goal, too, of finishing the race – and with a respectable time as well. Great job, guys!
Proud of both boys!
