I ran across the neatest idea in the January 2010 issue of Real Simple magazine.
Side note: I love Real Simple. How about you?
Anyway, I love this idea and I’m taking the challenge on for myself (rephrased from its original publication):
I will do 101 things I have never tried before in 1,001 days.
How freeing is it to try something new and completely different? And the time frame is certainly reasonable – 1,001 days=2 years, 8+ months. Doable, right?
Here’s what I’m already thinking about putting on my 101 List:
- Replacing a light switch (without hiring someone to do it for me)
- Parachuting
- Refinishing an antique desk
- Making a container herb garden
- Visiting the Blue Bell factory
I’d love to have you join me – we can hold each other accountable! Drop a note in the comments section if you’d like to participate. We’ll kick off the 101 days on March 1st and periodically track our progress!
Parachuting – Skydiving??? Here you go –

Don't see a contact # for Texas. Might check with Pres. Geo.H.W. Bush.
I have actually thought about skydiving…wonder if GHWB would take my phone call?
I think I'd have to do a tandem jump though; I'm too scared to go it alone.

I'm hoping to go next month. You can go with me.
You're in luck… the first jump is required to be a tandem jump.
Do it. Do it. Do it.
Scary though!!!!
That's just the adrenaline.
I've gone through and pillaged a good portion of your list.
Excellent!! You must send us a link to your list.
You are making much better progress on your list than I am making on mine. I still haven't come up with 101 things.
Get busy!
