The boy has signed up for a runner’s training program. He’s in a quest to improve his overall run time in order to qualify for the Boston Marathon. To do this, he’ll need to cut nearly 30 minutes off his overall best performance.
{Minor gasp!}
I’m excited he’s signed up to run with a trainer. There’s nothing quite like having someone who can watch your technique, be it work, spiritual, or fitness-related, to help you make progress.
I guess we all get the end of what we can accomplish on our own and need a fresh set of eyes to tweak the little bits here and there to make a huge difference (for the better) in the long…pardon the pun…run.
So, it’s early. It’s Saturday. And we’re off to White Rock Lake. The boy is running 16 miles or so. I’m going to attempt 9.5 miles. I’m not quite sure who will finish first, but I won’t be surprised if he’s waiting by the car for me!
I'm have a very difficult time being nice here…. š
Try!!
