Trust Me Kid, You’ll Need It

I am compiling a list of my shortcomings – things I ought to have learned when I was younger, but didn’t. I now carry these as my Badge of Dishonor, along with a contact list of folks who can help me out:

  • Handyman skills. I can’t hang things straight, repair small bits and pieces or find my way around the hardware store.
  • Mental mathematics. It is important to add in your head, if you’re shopping on a budget. It is also useful to know at what point two cars will collide if travelling head-on in the middle of the night on the Dallas North Tollway.
  • Life/work balance. Better to take a mental health day before you go completely bonkers and have to take a mental health day.

More on my handyman woes later this week…call it a plea for help. (As in: Anyone want to come over and help??)
