Kelly and I sponsor a child through Compassion International. She’s a sweet thing, 6 years old, in Central America.
This past Christmas, we gave a special gift of $325 to Alicia and her family. And yesterday we received a thank-you note from her detailing how they used the money. I thought I’d share a Central American family Christmas with you:
Dear sponsors Kelly and Shannah,
Alicia greets you and she is happy for the gift you sent her, the $325. She says that she bought a bed, a dress, lingerie, socks, rice, beans, sugar, oil, milk and soap.
Hmm…Christmas money spent to purchase what many of us consider necessities to be purchased out of the monthly budget. Alicia’s list puts our Wish Lists to shame, doesn’t it?
