If I could send Kelly an email this morning, this is what it would say:
Hey Love!
I am ready for you to come home. We’ve had a bit of a cold snap over the past few days. You know how I’m cold-natured – I can barely stay warm. Throwing a kitty (or two) on my lap isn’t making a dent in how cold I feel. I wish you were here to snuggle with me.
Speaking of snuggling, I’m really missing family time. Bridget has co-opted my lap, forcing Ben to sulk on the arm of the sofa. It’s funny to see, but everyone really wants Daddy home to put things in right order.
I’ve been eating strange foods at strange hours – it’s much easier to have a meal routine when someone is here to share the experience. I’m learning that cooking is more than pulling food together, it’s really an opportunity for me to say “I love you” with every meal I prepare. You won’t believe the meals I’ve planned for your return!!
I’m also exhausted and run down. I’ve been filling my time with errands and visits, meetings and late work nights. I live a more balanced life when you’re with me.
I love you and I can’t wait to see you tomorrow. Please come home quickly!
