I’m sitting in the dark, providing a warm lap for a kitty while I’m waiting on the coffee to brew. It’s one of those mornings.
On a good morning, I pop right out of bed to feed the cats and start preparing for work.
On a not-so-good morning, I sit on the sofa, hold a cat and wonder if I can think straight without the first cup of coffee. That’s today. I can already tell what kind of coffee day it will be.
Two cups, brewed extra strong, light on sugar, light on cream. When the coffee’s gone, I’ll switch to Earl Gray – no sugar, no milk.
Fortunately for me, my coffee pot announces when it’s finished. Right now, it’s beeping away and even Big Dumb Ben is smart enough to hop off my lap so I can stumble in for the first cup.
It’s one of those mornings…but it won’t be for long! The smell alone is making me hum an old favorite song, The Java Jive:
And “the boys” singing it!
You know it! The very best version out there!
My son is hilarious when he is singing the song. “a cupuh, a cupuh, a cupuh, a cupuh!”
