Ran 4.25 miles last Sunday morning before church. Ho-hum.
I can tell I need to mix up my workout routine. So last week I started a new metabolism-boosting workout from trainer Raphael Calzadilla.
I jumped ahead to Level 2, Interval Training. All was well until I had to boost my intensity level to 5.5. I don’t even want to talk about level 6.5. Thank goodness those were short bursts only!
(Kelly said I need to make a new mini-goal to learn how to run at level 6.5 without holding on to the treadmill for dear life. What can I say? I was afraid of flying off the treadmill track like a shotput.)
I can tell this routine is already having a positive impact.
- My 4.25 mile run was really a breeze, in contrast to my 4 mile run of two weeks ago when I had to do some really ugly self-talk to get to the finish line.
- I improved my overall time, to 11:30 per mile. My previous time was 12:30 per mile. What an incredible improvement!
Mixing it up is good. Now I want to see my metabolism get moving, too!!!
