Well – it wasn’t quite what we had in mind for a bartending class, but Kelly and I did attend a class and it was touted as a bartending class. That’s got to count for something.
We did learn the principles of cocktail making – including when to shake versus stir. Apparently there’s a little more to that class James Bond line than I realized.
There’s also a purpose for all of the tools.
Our instructors walked us through four different classic cocktails. Some were awesome (martinis and vespers), some were awful (negroni).
And I did learn something pretty important: I know enough about bartending to be satisfied. So we’re calling it good on this 101 list item.
