Tackling Embroidery

I’ve finally conquered part one of a failed past with handiwork craft: I embroidered!

(Still to be addressed: My impatience with cross stitch, knitting and crochet. But one thing at a time.)

I started with an easy-peasy project – a sweet little bib for a sweet little girl that’s on the way for a dear friend of mine.

Emboldened by my success with a preprinted pattern, I downloaded a couple of designs and, using a water soluble fabric pen, sketched them onto flour sack towels.

I.Love.These.

They were so easy! I was able to embroider four towels, while chatting with family, in a few hours over the holidays. Can’t you just see these as the perfect “wrapping paper” for a Christmas gift of a loaf of homemade bread or Kelly’s fudge?

Sigh. Now I just have to remember that I made these when Christmas rolls around a year from now.

Anyway – I’m now plotting new things to embroider. Pillows? (Likely.) Or…gloves? (Totally digging these.)

Too much fun. I’ve created a monster!!!!
