Saturday

Saturday highlights:

Mama…can I help? {No, Bridget. For the love of God, please take a nap before I knock you out!}

A new Christmas wreath – thanks to a stop at Pier One (star=$5) and Hobby Lobby (wreath=$5). Hung just in time to be drug outside to tackle the Great Raking Project of 2011, aka, Is there really a yard under this carpet of leaves?

The Boy humming It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year. When asked why he had the tune on his mind, he said it was the only Christmas song written from a husband’s point of view. Then he sang a few of his lyrics:

It’s the most wonderful time of the year.
The wife’s in the kitchen and is busy fixing
Things you don’t get any other time.
There is wassail for sipping
and crackers for crunching.
Snacking all day long…
It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

He’s a crazy boy.

Even worse, he threatened to eat a cherry pie I specifically made as a gift. To appease him, I offered raisin-pecan-cinnamon chip oatmeal cookies. I had already packaged them (along with others) to give to local first responders.

Move the package you’re eating from to a different area, so I’ll know which one I need to refill, I told him.

Ok, he said. I’ve put it in a different area.

Crazy, crazy boy.
